What we collect

From organizations that use BranaPay: the organization's details and registration documents, and the names, emails and phone numbers of its team members.

From people who pay or give through BranaPay: the details the organization or the payer gives us, such as name, phone number and email, and the record of each payment.

From people who contact us through this website: what you write in the contact form.

Why we use it

To process payments and keep accurate records for the organizations you pay, to send receipts and the messages an organization has turned on, to verify organizations, to prevent fraud, and to answer your questions.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use payers' details for our own marketing.

Who we share it with

The organization you pay sees your payments to it. Payment providers (such as banks and mobile money operators) receive what they need to process the payment. Our SMS and email providers receive what they need to deliver messages. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.

How we protect it

Information is encrypted in transit, sensitive data is encrypted at rest, access is limited by role and protected by two-step sign-in, and every action in an organization's account is recorded in an audit log.

How long we keep it

Payment records are kept for as long as financial record-keeping rules require. Website enquiries are kept while we are in contact with you and deleted when no longer needed.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or, where the law allows, to delete it. If you pay an organization through BranaPay, you can also ask that organization directly.
